Dr. Gagandeep Singh, MD, DFAPA, serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Mercy Care, where he leads efforts to enhance mental health services and integrate care delivery. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Maulana Azad Medical College (1989–1995) and completed his Psychiatry Residency at the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences (1997–2001).
Board-certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Singh also holds certifications in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine from the American Board of Preventive Medicine. His expertise spans multiple psychiatric disciplines, with a strong emphasis on integrated care models and behavioral health services.
Since joining Mercy Care as Chief Medical Officer in September 2021, Dr. Singh has spearheaded initiatives in strategic medical management, quality improvement, value-based care, and policy development. He provides leadership and guidance to medical directors, driving advancements in integrated care and ensuring high-quality services across all six of Mercy Care’s contracted lines of business. He is also instrumental in strengthening provider relationships and representing Mercy Care within the Arizona medical community.
Beyond his role at Mercy Care, Dr. Singh is an Associate Professor at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and the immediate Past-President of the Arizona Psychiatric Society. He has been recognized as a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (APA), an honor that reflects his commitment to advancing psychiatric care.
Dr. Singh has made significant contributions to psychiatric research, publishing articles in scholarly journals and delivering numerous presentations on mental health, addiction medicine, and innovative care models. His leadership continues to shape the future of psychiatry, advocating for improved patient care and forward-thinking approaches to mental health and well-being.
